Introduced in 1985, the Case IH 1594 was a utility tractor that replaced the JI Case 1594. It was a larger model compared to the 685L, though both belonged in the same range. In 1988, Case IH launched a commemorative edition of the 1594 to mark the end of its production. It was last sold for US$ 26,000 in its final year.
The 1594 had an in-line six-cylinder Case diesel engine that produced 97 hp with its 5.4-litre displacement. This engine had a 100-millimetre bore, 114-millimetre stroke, liquid cooling, and dual paper element air cleaner with a pre-cleaner. Its compression ratio was 16:1 and ran at a rated 2300 RPM. Its oil capacity was 12.5 litres, coolant capacity was 15.3 litres, and fuel capacity was 136.3 litres. Lastly, it gave the tractor a 12-volt starter.
This model belonged in the mid-range, with a PTO rating of 86 hp and drawbar rating of 74 hp. It can give 242.7 lb-ft of torque at 1425 RPM. It had a II-type three-point hitch in the rear that can lift objects weighing up to 3,374 kilogrammes.
The Case IH 1594 drove either a 12-speed synchromesh or a 12-speed partial powershift transmission. Both types had 12 forward and four reverse gears. Their oil capacity was 31.8 litres.
This tractor was available in a 4×2 2WD chassis, though a 4×4 MFWD 4WD was offered as an option. It had an independent rear PTO that ran at 540 per 1000 RPM. It was equipped with hydrostatic power steering and differential hydraulic wet disc brakes. This model came with either an ROPS or a cab.
The 1594’s hydraulics system was an open-centre type with two valves that can give 2600 psi worth of pressure. Its steering flow was 29.1 litres per minute at 1850 psi. the total flow was 39.7 litres per minute, or 76.1 if tandem.
This model was equipped with an alternator charging system that can give 45 amps, or 65 amps if heavy duty. It also had one 12-volt battery that featured 420 cold-cranking amps (or 550 if heavy duty) and 96 Amp-hours (or 128 if heavy duty).
The 2WD variant used 10.00-16 sized standard front tyres and weighed 4,213 kilogrammes. Its front axle load was 3,628 kilogrammes, ground clearance was 40 centimetres, and front tread ranged from 142 to 203 centimetres. Meanwhile, the 4WD’s standard front tyres were either size 13.6-24 or 13.6-28. Its front axle load was 3,628 kilogrammes, ground clearance was 38 centimetres, and front tread ranged from 152 to 193 centimetres.
Both 2WD and 4WD’s standard rear tyres could be size 16.9-38, 18.4-34, 14.9-24, or 18.6-38. Their drawbar capacity was 1,496 kilogrammes at PTO position, rear axle load was 5,443 kilogrammes, and wheelbase was 254 centimetres. Their rear treads ranged from 142 to 213 centimetres. Lastly, both variants were 416 centimetres long, 198 centimetres wide, and 271 centimetres high.
