Overview & History
Manufactured by Turk Tractor in Ankara, Turkey for New Holland, the New Holland TD80D tractor first came out in 2007 but was discontinued the following year. Its original price was US$ 19,600 and was last sold for US$ 21,100.
The TD80D is powered by a Tier 2, liquid-cooled, 4-cylinder diesel engine built by Iveco. It runs at 72 hp at 2500 rated RPM, with a torque of 205.8 lb-ft at 1500 RPM. The engine also has a good PTO of 62 hp, and its fuel tank can contain 90.1 litres.
This tractor was available in two-wheel drive as a standard and four-wheel drive as an option. It came with a two-post foldable ROPS, but New Holland also offered a cab option with heat and air-conditioning. It has a rear lift capacity of 2,279 kg with good mechanical draft control.
The TD80D’s transmission system consists of a synchronised mechanical shuttle and creeper types, with a total of 20 forward and 12 reverse gears. There are four synchronised gears in each of the three non-synchronised ranges. The transmission also has an 11-inch cerametallic dry disc for its clutch. The creeper type added an additional eight forward speeds to the mechanical shuttle transmission.
As for its hydraulics, it’s an open centre type and can give a pump flow of 51.5 litres per minute. Together with 30.7 litres-per-minute steering flow, the tractor’s total flow amounts to 82.1 litres per minute.
Other features of the TD80D are its independent rear PTO, hydrostatic power steering, and hydraulic wet disc brake. Its wheelbase is 231 cm for the two-wheel drive and 220 cm for the four-wheel drive. Its weight varies from 2,586 to 3,136 kg depending on the variant and whether it has a ROPS or a cab.
The two-wheel drive’s tyres can fit 10.00-16 at the front and 16.9-30 and 18.4R30 at the rear. Meanwhile, the four-wheel drive’s tyres use sizes 11.2R24 and 12.4R24 at the front and 16.9R30 and 18.4R30 at the rear.
