Overview & History
The New Holland T6020 was a utility tractor manufactured in Basildon, England along with the other T6000 models from 2007 until it was discontinued in 2012. It was available in Delta (economy range), Plus (mid-range), and Elite (premium range) variants, and it also had a version for loader use, called the T6020LS.
This tractor was fitted with an FPT 4.5L 4-cyl diesel engine, a standard in all T6000 tractors that made them popular among farmers. Both Delta and Plus have a mechanical rotary pump fuel system, while the Elite has a high-pressure common-rail (HPCR) fuel system to meet the tier 3 emissions compliance.
The New Holland T6020 Delta’s ElectroShift transmission has 16 forward and reverse gears, with four ranges having four gears each. It enables push-button power shifting between gears, clutch-free shifting between ranges A-B and C-D, and synchronised shifting from ranges B-C. Its transmission also has a Dual Command power shuttle unit with 24 forward and reverse gears. Twelve of its gears each had a push-button underdrive.
The Plus variant has ElectroShift and AutoShift transmission units each with 16 forward and reverse gears, with the AutoShift adding an automatic shifting function to the transmission.
Meanwhile, the Elite was equipped with an AutoShift transmission with 16 forward and reverse gears and a hydraulic wet disc clutch. There are four gears in each of the four ranges (A-D). With this transmission, you can power shift between gears and ranges A-B and C-D. It also providsd automatic shifting in ranges A, B, and C and has a road setting for combined ranges C-D. The Economy AutoShift offers an overdrive 17th gear, but there is also a high-speed option that provided a 50 kph high-speed 17th gear.
The T6020’s hydraulic output reaches 62.8 litres per minute (lpm) for Delta and 100.3 lpm for Plus and Elite. All variants also have an extra steering pump flow of 39.7 lpm to boost work rates. The Plus and Elite’s pump flow means that these tractors are perfect for operating a loader at a reasonable speed without needing to speed up unnecessarily, which would be noisier and a waste of fuel.
With a rear lift capacity of 3,400 to 5,500 kg depending on the variant, combined with a healthy hydraulic flow, the T6020 is perfect for stacking and loading heavy cargo.
